The next meeting of the AFK will be Saturday, June 11 at the Knoxville Museum of Art, from 2 - 3 p.m. We will enjoy a tour led by French-speaking docent, Saralee Peccolo-Taylor. The tour, which is free, will begin promptly at 2 p.m., so the museum suggests that we be early; plan to be in the museum lobby at 1:45.

In March, we will benefit from a chance to attend some French Connections Week events sponsored by the French department at University of Tennessee.  Below are activities that are proposed – exact times and dates will be sent to you later. Please note that the activities are not firm and may change.

March 28: French Cooking demo; screening of the film L’Auberge Espagnole.

March 29: Coffee & Canvas painting class; Language Trivia night.

March 30: Your Future with French; Life After Study Abroad – discussions.

March 31:  French Slam Poetry Workshop and Contest; Escape Room game.

April 1:  Poisson d’avril scavenger hunt

Du 28 mars au 1er avril, nous pourrons participer à La Semaine des Connexions Françaises qui est sponsorisée par le département français de l'Université du Tennessee. The February meeting of the AFK will be Saturday, February 13, at 3 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 6500 S. Northshore Dr, Knoxville, 37919 to celebrate La Chandeleur. Bring your crepe makers, crepe batter and your favorite fillings to share! The entrance, near the west parking lot, will be marked. The meeting room is next to a small kitchen.

Our next meeting will be Sunday, September 20, from 3 – 5 p.m. at the main library at University of Tennessee (UTK Hodges Library), room 252, 1015 Volunteer Boulevard. On the program: the film L'Adversaire (2002). Directed by Nicole Garcia. With Daniel Auteuil, Géraldine Pailhas, et François Cluzet. The film was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival.

Notre prochaine réunion aura lieu le dimanche 20 septembre de 15 h à 17h à la bibliothèque principale de l’Université (UTK Hodges Library), salle 252, 1015 Volunteer Boulevard.
